We travelled for nearly two hours to get to this pub to meet friends who travelled an equal distance.

It was worth the effort. The food was freshly cooked, very good value and the beer wonderfully kept. We sampled Fuller's London Pride, Timothy Taylor's landlord and Woodfordes Wherry. It was all wherry nice! They even had a limited edition J2O for the drivers. The Landlord was hospitable, knowledgeable and conversational about folk music and artists of our era (last 40 years) and served us coffee well after his normal closing time. Thank you.

The village is pretty and has an interesting stream with a ford and stone footbridge in the 'High Street'

A real gem, and one Greene King have not been allowed to ruin. A proper country pub offering reasonable food, good beers with the odd guest available. Cozy, full of locals and with darts, old fashioned bar skittles inside and a pentanq area in the delightful garden at the back. Lovely on a warm summers evening to wile away the hours enjoying the peace and quiet, view and genuine atmosphere.

If you like the traditional country inn then this pub is for you. A frequently changing selection of real ales (and the occasional 'real' cider). The food is excellent; all freshly prepared and cooked by the landlord's wife (apparently much of the ingredients are locally sourced) and very reasonably priced too.
The 'pub garden' is strewn with lovely old apple trees and at the very back a petanque pitch overlooks farmland: If you visit in the winter you can always warm yourself by one of the two real fires whilst playing darts or bar skittles.
