Good Beer Guide 2019 Entry. The bar is a good approximation of a pub - with nick nacky decorations, collections of Good Beer Guides, rules of the tavern posters etc. Horseshoe bar with high stools all around. Wooden tables with 4 wooden seats. Big windows overlooking the road. Five real ales on - I can remember HPA, Malvern Hills Brewery Bitter and Hopback Summer Lightening (chosen). In decent condition. Old fashioned delightful hotel. Previously frequented by theatrical types I believe. Would like to make fair assessment of the beer but after a very long drinking day fail to recall what I had. It seemed jolly good at the time. Music reverberated throughout the bar, not really noisy but considerable vibration bothered me not at all. doorstep - 27 Sep 2011 18:18 |
Recently stayed here for a few days. Friendly staff, good bar (Malvern Hills Black Pear was superb) also selling Bass, the ubiquitous Doom Bar and a Kinver beer. Very good food also. Music on over the weekend, good but loud (to an oldie like me). This place is a complete antidote to soulless identikit chain hotels, and all the better for it. metrology_man - 30 Aug 2011 11:28 |
Friendly hotel bar serving 3 ales from Malvern Hills Brewery and Bass. Also serves food. Live music sometimes on offer with a late finish. Feed - 12 Jul 2010 18:34 |
It wouldn't be fair of me to rate the pub as I haven't had a drink there for over five years. However they serve an excellent (if a little pricey) breakfast so you can sometimes find the wife and I there Sunday morning eitehr before or after taking the dogs for a walk on the Malverns. klaatu - 29 Mar 2008 17:19 |
