| This is a bit tucked away, not the sort of place you�re going to stumble across by chance, but worth popping in if you�re nearby. It�s a decent sized pub divided in to several different areas, part flagstone floor and partly carpeted. There�s a decent �pub grub� menu, skittles alley and a darts team. The staff all seemed very friendly. My only slight criticism was that it didn�t seem particularly cosy, as you might expect in a country pub. It was quite brightly lit, could have been a couple of degrees warmer, and perhaps a bit more furniture. The flagstone front bar in particular seemed very open and a little �cold�. But these are minor gripes, it�s a decent pub. Beers were 6X, Henry�s IPA and Butcombe. Ciders were Thatcher�s Gold and Stowford Press. Blackthorn - 2 Mar 2010 22:33 |
