First visit here and it won't be the last. Cracking pint of Bath Ales SPA. As for the food, well I can't add much to the last couple of reviews. Outstanding. At first glance the roast belly pork panini seemed a trifle expensive at £7.95. When it arrived I realised what good value it was. 3 good sized slices of slow cooked belly, grilled apple, home made onion relish and superb cole slaw and the dressing on the salad was to die for. We did order a portion of chips, which were excellent, to share, but not really needed as the portions were so generous. I shall return. Jules_B - 4 Jun 2013 15:06 |
April 2011 (Post budget) Butcombe Bitter still 2-85 (though landlady Sharon said it may need to go up 5p). Two bad pints of Bombardier 2-90 changed immediately without question. We later found out it had been in the lines all day. Swopped to Butcombe which was fine. Eaten here several times, better than usual pub food. Never had a dissapointing meal. Good value for money. Nice example of small country pub with garden for families. Dining room pleasant enough and food good enough, for a celebration meal. Reccommended. pheon - 13 Apr 2011 21:02 |
Lovely pub found just outside Bristol, had a fantastic venison burger, great service, kids had a great time in the garden with the rabbits and guinea pigs. David_williams - 26 Apr 2010 21:25 |

Whilst visiting friends in the area with my mother from wales we were recommended this pub for a midday meal. How dissapointing. The staff consisted of one lady serving behind the bar and also taking the food orders. When the food arrived it was very mediocre for the price. Both food and drink prices were over the top. There seemed to be little organisation or hospitality in the pub, when a number of other patrons arrived it seemed the one and only barmaid found it difficult to cope. This will be our first and last visit to this pub as we are now aware of other pubs withing the area that offer better food and service for the same if not cheaper prices. linda56 - 27 Sep 2009 10:46 |
