| This is a proper pub situated right in the centre of the village, and seems to be everything that a decent local should be. The emphasis is on drinks rather than food, although there is a decent looking �pub grub� menu served up until 8:00pm with most of the meals being very reasonable at around the �6 mark. Lots of pub games in evidence, with the right hand bar being dominated by a pool table, plus darts and table skittles. The pub was quite busy on a recent Wednesday night due to a table skittles match against the Yew Tree (incidentally, the landlady from the Yew Tree had driven her team over in a minibus! How�s that for great service from your local? I think a few more pubs ought to take up that idea). Beers on this occasion were Butcombe and Ringwood Best. Ciders were Thatcher�s Gold and Traditional. | Tried this place today, my friends Butcombe recieved praise and the two meals alla Gammon & rump Steak were typical pub grub but, well presented and cooked and good value for the money,nothing was left anyway.The place was clean and tidy,and wouldn't think it a food pub had it not been for the signs and the menus,never the less an enjoyable experience. james55westhead - 16 Sep 2009 16:03 |
