Stopped of whilst walking the dog and pleasantly surprised, given recent comments, a good pint of bombardier and a quite pleasant white Rioja. Service not wonderful, a bit gruff and slow, but adequate. Watched end of rugby, England won, which made the visit even better. NormAle - 4 Dec 2012 10:51 |
just been to the rose and crown 2 years after i said i would never go back, as the sun was shining we sat outside in the garden, sorry rubbish dump, ordered food okish but for the price very poor you can get the same from iceland`s a lot cheaper i assume this is where they shop. the drink is served in plastic glasses for outside which is ok although most were using proper glasses outside, then at 9pm we were told to leave as we had children aged 14 and 11 who were sitting quietly in a deserted garden having just eaten dinner i asked if we could have pudding no was the answer as it was past 9pm dont bother with this pub it is in a downward spiral since youngs took over. gubbsy - 26 May 2012 22:33 |
Went in Easter Sunday - early evening. Atmosphere not good just lots of little boys shouting and swearing. Bloke behind the bar didn't seem able to deal with simple requests. Sh1t smeared all over the seat of the Gent's loo and floor awash with p1ss. Avoid. ripitupandstartagain - 26 Apr 2011 20:45 |
Went back here on Wednesday night after a few years out of the area and wasn't impressed! Seems like youngs have got it all wrong and ruined a busy lively pub with decent staff, new crowd of drinkers not the best! drinkiedrink - 10 Sep 2010 16:50 |
thank goodness youngs have finally seen sense and decided to change the manager, a dull and uninteresting woman with bad breath and very little in the way of social skills, i have witnessed her talking to her staff as if they were something nasty on her shoe that she had stepped in, being the worse for wear and shouting rudely across the bar after sampling to much of her products, and generally driving down trade from a once thriving venue. good riddance and next time you are passing just keep going. papalouie - 7 Sep 2010 22:13 |
