This has been reopened as a community pub, but unfortunately it seems that the same locals are still using it. On entering I wondered if I was in a pub, with two comfortable settees at one end, or an Olde English Tea Rooms with that style of tables and chairs, all it needed, I thought, was table cloths, but then I looked to the right, and there they were, they are trying to be a pub, cafe, meeting room, library and goodnes knows what else, depending the time of the day, Decent lighting, but the inevitable candle on each table, and that dreadful overloud musak, why do landlords think that customers like it? Three real ales, two overhopped, and Harveys Best. The staff are pleasant, and the Harveys was good. RobinDay - 16 Jul 2015 11:14 |
Because of the behavour of the locals, this place has been closed for a long time now. But now, the same locals are trying to raise money to turn it into a community pub, not much hope of that happening I would have thought, would not last long if it did open. RobinDay - 11 Aug 2013 14:07 |
