| Large pub predominantly for diners, with a huge car park. We were in need of sustenance. So we requested a table. They currently do a 3-course meal for £10. This included a full carvery. We were stuffed. Ales were Enville Ale, Wye Valley HPA & Theakston Old Peculier. There were no real ciders. But they did have Rattler, which is rarely seen in these parts. | Unpleasantly over crowded. The food is very good, carvery or the small choice from the menu. Probably in the top 3 of carvery meals I've been to. The best thing this place could do to improve things is reduce the number of tables to allow people to eat without feeling as if you have your neighbours elbow in your dinner. | Had a Sunday lunch here, booked for 7, for 2 o'clock ("you can't book for 1 o'clock, we don't take bookings for then"). When we arrived we were told we would be on 2 tables but we could push tables together. They were true to their word, we had to arrange the table to allow our group to sit together. Food was very good, meat moist and tender, veg not over cooked as many carveries tend to be. However, a little pricey at all but �10 a head. The place was uncomfortably busy, resulting in us being jostled whilst queuing for drinks and food. People could not move without getting in each others way, including the polite staff. Desserts were also a bit pricey for what they were (�4.25 for a small sundae glass of Mr whippy style ice cream). Also, 2 desserts were cancelled as they did not have any left, however, they still appeared on the bill. They were removed once I had identified who took the order. | I had the best ever pub lunch here on several occasions,absolutely top notch carvery,with different meats and trimmings. I also have had a good value ,well presented 3 course meal there in weekdays.I have no complaints what so ever apart from maybe the ale was a bit pricey,but yet very nice choice of local beers. | We,ve recently had a meal at The Plough, Far Forest, it was fantastic,the staff were attentive and considerate, the menu was tempting and keenly priced. The waiting time was not too long and the choice of ales were good. We have been to the Plough before and were impressed last time so our expectations were high, we were not disappointed and will certainly be going again soon. Keep up the good work!
