The Plough Inn, Far Forest

Had a Sunday lunch here, booked for 7, for 2 o'clock ("you can't book for 1 o'clock, we don't take bookings for then"). When we arrived we were told we would be on 2 tables but we could push tables together. They were true to their word, we had to arrange the table to allow our group to sit together.
Food was very good, meat moist and tender, veg not over cooked as many carveries tend to be. However, a little pricey at all but �10 a head.
The place was uncomfortably busy, resulting in us being jostled whilst queuing for drinks and food. People could not move without getting in each others way, including the polite staff.
Desserts were also a bit pricey for what they were (�4.25 for a small sundae glass of Mr whippy style ice cream). Also, 2 desserts were cancelled as they did not have any left, however, they still appeared on the bill. They were removed once I had identified who took the order.
Overall, disappointed considering the place's reputation. Will probably try again, on a weekday, to give them a chance to redeem themselves!
