Good pub, 3 ales on when I visited - Greene King IPA, Wainwright and a very nice pint of Timmy Taylors Landlord. Recommend trying the pies - mine came with lovely mash, plenty of veg and gravy. Will return when the weather gets better to take advantage of the garden!! Mr_Bungle - 15 Mar 2013 13:24 |
What an excellent find this was! Great little pub, tucked away in a village about 6 miles south of the A428 Cambridge / St Neots road. Olde-worlde type pub; very neat and tidy. It also has a very large and pleasant garden [ which was a suprise ]. Four real ales including Doom Bar and Pride of Pendle [both of which were most drinkable]. However, as good as the beer was, the food was even better. It took me ages to munch my way through the excellent Chicken and Leek pie, veg and chips - outstanding !! Well recommended - this is the sort of pub you would want to visit again and again. REALALETY - 1 Sep 2012 12:20 |
Good pub with very acceptable home cooked meals - lots of veg a bonus. Always one or two guest ales around, often Sharp's Doombar, but lots of others too. One big grouse. Booked a table for my in-laws who duly asked at the counter and were put to sit at a particular table. Landlord then told them to move brusquely without even asking whether they had booked. On being told that they were sitting where directed, he did not apologize and grudgingly moved them elsewhere in the pub. NOT A GOOD WAY TO BUILD CUSTOM. chatfieldshopper - 27 Jun 2010 18:00 |
