Traditional local that survives without selling food. The small bar is unspoiled and is a haven for conversation. Abbot is the regular ale. Guests were Tribute & Landlord. Staff were friendly. There is a separate lounge, which I didn't try.

Absence from the Good Beer Guide a mystery to me - it just serves great IPA and Abbot in civilised but friendly rooms - what more does it take. Has anyone ever had a bad pint here ?

Popped in again on a Thursday night. Great pint of Abbott drawn straigyht from the barrel. The locals have just set up a cheese night. Last Thursday in the month. Seemed to be going very well...there were some really tasty cheeses...I went for the Isle of Mull Cheddar.

Was back here for a pint or two recently. The place seems timeless. Beer still in excellent condition. The landlord breeds Wyandotte bantams and they can be seen in the large garden. Nothing better than sitting under the walnut tree with a pint or two of abbott ale watching the birds.

Despite being a GK pub, this is a lovely little place in a pretty village which is easy walking or cycling distance from Cambridge (cycling is more realistic). On a Staurday lunchtime in the summer there were a few friendy locals, other vistors like myself and very good Abbot Ale - served straight from the barrel. I meant to only have a couple but the Abbot was so good I had four.
