| Different name now and apparently up for sale again. So I'm told. 4 real ales on tap when I visited and the 2 I tried were well kept. Jarl being the best. I visited in the afternoon and it was quiet. Excluding my Linlithgow buddy and myself there were never more than 7 people in and we were there all afternoon. Barmaid unfriendly and spent her time talking to locals so in the Scottish way, if you wanted to buy a beer you needed to shout for service. Not recommended. Todrungren - 20 Oct 2016 23:30 |

| Traditional pub on the main thoroughfare in Linlithgow. I was the first customer in on a Sunday lunchtime and was made very welcome by the friendly and chatty barman. No real ales on but there were 2 choices of Belhaven Best on, the extra cold was a decent pint. A wooden bar faces you in the centre as you enter the pub, with stools all around the bar and a seating area in the corner. Another room is to your right with seating areas, old pictures of Linlithgow adorn the walls along with brewery mirrors, at the back of the pub is a room housing a pool table. The current landlord is ex Darlington and Raith Rovers striker Colin Sinclair who too along with the barman was very chatty. While this pub may not make the GBG due to its lack of real ale it's a very honest place that is worthy of a visit. lezford - 27 Jun 2013 14:23 |
