Best pub in the village by miles... If you had said that to me growing up in Sileby years ago I would have laughed, but the Steamin Billy boys have done good. Great beers, usually Tipsy Fisherman, Billy Bitter, Skydiver, Charnwood brewery Salvation and Dark Horse Mild. Bad Apple cider (not as good as Founders reserve, but okay) along with loads of quality lagers. In an age where pub décor insists small rooms are knocked into one and opened out, The Horse and Trumpet has 3 small rooms, plus an even smaller one with a dartboard! Great function room with bar in the old skittle alley. Dog and children friendly, great locals. Clive the landlord know how to run a pub. Even has tasteful pictures of partly clad ladies of an equestrian theme in the gents... What's not to like...

Reasonable enough pub like refurb with a decent selection of ales on.

Having been to the Free Trade in this small town a number of years ago, I returned to Sileby to try this Steamin' Billy pub. It has a fairly traditional feel. Although you can tell it has only recently been refurbished. The one room has the feel of a library. There is outdoor seating in a small garden at the rear of the very tight car park. Ales were Tipsy Fisherman, Billy Bitter & Skydiver. In addition there were 2 guests - Belvoir Dark Horse & Charnwood Vixen. Fynburys Rutland Cider & Broadoak Perry were also available. Seems to offer a number of events to encourage local custom. Quite impressed with this pub.

Large pub, with small, comfortable bars at the front, lounge at the back and outside seating area, away from the roadside. Interesting Steamin' Billy ales (with loyalty card available at £2) and guest ales. Clean toilets a boon!

Welcome addition to the Sileby pub scene. Proper good ales as part of the Steamin Billy chain, three of their own plus a few guests as well.

A welcoming atmosphere on the afternoon I visited, with some good music being played too.

Worth a visit.
