user reviews of Free Trade Inn, Sileby

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Quaint thatched pub from the outside with a central bar serving a few sections within. Ale quality decent - a bit too child-friendly though.

Very welcoming and pleasant, busy and clearly popular pub. Great staff who know what they're doing. The night I was there, they were doing Mongolian food! A good range of ales, as good as the Horse and Trumpet. Traditional and homely interior and pleasant beer garden, with shed for smokers. A great place to sup something of a summer's evening.

There's not much choice in Sileby. This is one of them. It's alright.

It has always been a great pub... I met my wife in there 25 years ago so I've got to say that! Seriously though, great beer and atmoshphere.

Fantastic pub! Very clean, well kept and the beer is excellent.

The landlords (Joan & Brian) are lovely people and very welcoming - they've been living in the pub for 15 years! Bar staff are all young, friendly people too.

The locals are a cheery bunch and a mix of all ages from 18 to 80!

There's two dartboards, large car park and nice beer garden with an 8-lane well-maintained Petanque court.

Probably not the pub for you if you like a wide range of real ales though, as they only have Everards' own bitters on usually- although they're nice themselves!

Children are not allowed at the bar at ANY time and all under-16s must be off the premises by 20:30, which I think is reasonable.

Dogs are always very welcome.

The only time they serve food is Sunday lunch, and they prefer if you ring first to book it as space can be limited due to popularity!

Defintily one worth trying if you're in the area... :-)
