10/10 for service and food, within a clean relaxed environment. This is a lovely mix of quality food, with excellent service for a great price. We were delighted with how well we were looked after from initial drinks, through 3 courses, to the lovely lovely lady who wished us well on our leave. The pub was full and yet we felt like we were the only ones in there! The food comes really quickly, and there is a great choice. Well done Red LIon! missedout - 14 Jun 2011 20:21 |
Re-opened & re-vamped by the couple who used to have The Royal Oak in Eydon, & they're doing a great job! Food super & beer spot on. Well worth a visit. whatsores - 12 Oct 2010 16:47 |

I was married 31 years ago in St Mary's Culworth, and spent the hour or so before the ceremony in this pub with my Best Man drinking Pernod for Dutch courage. (We thought it would smell like toothpaste, not booze...) The night before we'd had a sort of stag night, only all the girls were having their hen night in the same (VERY small bar) We remember it fondly... There was no real ale in those days. What's it like now? Gets 10/10 if proper beer is stocked! A lovely local, but I have not been there for 25 years. anonymous - 15 Sep 2006 23:32 |
