A great place to drink with average food. It can also get very busy at the weekends helped by regular discos, karaoke and live bands. However, there are problems with this. It is a very much a younger persons pub so not many people eat there and as there is very little money in selling just drink then that is probably why they are having to sell. It is a shame because the owners are nice people. kyussmondo - 17 Aug 2009 17:52 |
Definitely the most down-to-earth pub in this affluent, historic town. We chose this pub because we wanted somewhere where our two childen could be a little bit noisy without the sky falling in, and we weren't disappointed; there was a friendly and informal atmosphere and we quickly felt relaxed and at home. There's a seperate restaurant area, but we were happy to eat in the 'pub' area. Only one real ale was on offer- Black Sheep bitter, which was served very cold, but then it was freezing outside so the beer reflected the temperature in the cellar. Food-wise we ordered baguettes and chips, plus kids meals, we found the food was good and plentiful, and appeared quickly. Pub was busy, with most people going through to eat in the restaurant part. There were two friendly pub cats who had an eye on our food. Only downside was that there was a 'for sale' sign on the wall, which means things might change in the near future- hopefully any new owner won't go down the 'gastropub' route, Framlingham is already awash with these. edchambers - 8 Feb 2009 21:37 |
