David and Ruth started the revitalisation of the Railway, Framlingham, in November 2013. The property has been completely redecorated in a modern and individual style which takes influences from the typographic revolution of the 1980's, as well as taking on an animal feel which ranges from the farmyard to the plains of Africa. All this yet the interior has a feeling of space and light giving a truly relaxed, interesting and friendly atmosphere.
Add to this initial success, their friendly staff deliver excellent beers and wines within this quirky but very relaxing space, it almost feels like a home from home it's such a comfortable place to be.
Complimented further by it's excellent food and vairied menu, the Railway has the recipe for success and will not fail to please.
Soon to be refurbished for live performances and events are the back barns and the gardens will be freshly planted for Summertime. The gardens run down to the riverbank, a great place for families or a sip in the sun! MoggyTog - 14 Mar 2014 09:23 |
Had a meal there last week with my son. Great meal, as we would expect from this pub. Did notice it was very under used. I put this down to no drinkers/smokers at the bar. This was great for me as previous visit there for a meal was spoilt with smoke in the bar/dining area.Of course the meals are good value but not cheap. barnetboy74 - 8 Nov 2007 15:02 |
In reply to mr. rbaird, the railway is indeed a fine establishment, however, due to the fickle nature of Framlingham's pub going crowd, the Railway is experiences both waves and troughs of activity throughout the years. Worth a visit just in case it is 'in fashion' at the time! Sports coverage is excellent! Still, not a patch on the station! pwwl - 26 Sep 2006 11:24 |
A fine establishment with something for everybody. Front bar for the drinker who likes a bit of warmth and comfort. Middle bar, with basic benches and tables and a back bar with big screen, pool, table football and darts. In the summer there is an area to sit in at the front of the pub and a sheltered garden round the back. The locals are on the most part very friendly. The land lady is very friendly and the bar staff are nearly always young, attractive, friendly, helpful ladies. Best pub in Framligham by some margin. rbaird - 18 Feb 2005 15:18 |
