This pub has just staged its first beer festival, with around 15-20 beers on offer, good for a rural pub with few chimney pots around it! Before last night I hadn't been in for a good few years but was made as welcome as ever and found the quality of the ale to be tip-top. They were serving food (which looked superb) and there was a bit of live music in the beer tent round the back. This is still a boozer worth visiting, and I would recommend it to anyone. amosbriz - 19 Jun 2011 15:55 |
Good beer, even a mild!. Looks nice from the outside but not as great inside (new floor etc) still ok. Nice little garden. Worth a visit. tommyn11685 - 18 Mar 2009 16:40 |
This pub isn't as welcoming it used to be nor is the beer up to scratch. Some locals tell me they stopped going or have been banned for voicing opinions! I went back recently and it is a shame to see the new modern floor spoiling the intregrity and plastic pots out the front. You can't take away the fact it is a lovely old thatched pub but why is it that you don't get the good landlords anymore? Suffolkbloke - 3 Jun 2008 22:52 |
A beautiful thatched community/local boozer, with some of the best kept pints and one of the widest selections of real ales in the area set in a beautiful part of Mid-Suffolk. Nancy the landlady certainly knows how to keep a pint and makes all guests very welcome. Our taxi driver/social organiser recommended this to us and it turned out to be a fantastic evening with the locals from the area and other guests mixing in and joining in the frivolity. An outstanding public house but as mentioned before get directions! I couldnt tell you myself as our Taxi dropped us off, popped in to check if everything was alright a couple of hours later and then picked us up a couple of hours after that, now that is a service!! Hav'nt been here for a while but I get regular updates from a colleague who taunts me with reports of how good the beer is and how Nancy, the landlady, has made yet another cracking selection that is not often available in the area. The original part of the Pub is a low thatched affair very pretty outside, very low inside, but no worries if you have a headache after visiting, you can be sure it was a low beam and not the beer. A great little Pub, hard to find but worth the search. Hops_n_Malt - 12 Mar 2007 17:45 |
