I visited The Beehive on March 19th with my Fiancee Linda and enjoyed superb evening. we were led to a table as soon as we arrived and the menus came a few seconds later. Whilst 3 real ales were on offer, we opted for a bottle of Pinot Grigio to accompany our meal. The atmosphere was everything you would hope for in a "Village pub" with a well sized car park to the side. We both chose meals from an inventive list of specials. Linda had Shin of Beef braised in a Red Wine Sauce. I opted for the Ham Hock with Parsley Sauce. Both were superbly cooked and presented. Neither of us finished the excellent selection of vegetables, such was the generosity of the portions. A major bonus was live music from 2130 - 2300. A brilliant young keyboard player called Carl Sinclair played quality pop and boogie backed by a drummer. Mrs Boss and her staff made us feel really welcome and the service was exemplary throughout. We look forward to another visit very soon. RogerSanday - 28 Mar 2011 19:27 |
A wonderful looking country pub however what a dissapointment for food and attention to detail. We dined at the beehive Christmas Day. It was not good at all and I wont be dining out on christmas day again. The food was very poor- horrible parsnip soup for starter and cold Veg from the carvery. The Toilets needed cleaning and dirty glass's Please smarten up your act. You have a typical lovely english country pub but slap happy staff or management. walton - 14 Jan 2010 15:59 |
What a lovely pub, great atmosphere especially on a friday night with live entertainment. Homemade food that compliments this traditional country pub. they have brilliant deal throughout the week, it makes it cheaper to eat out their than eat in, and when you sit next the coal fire who would want more. reasonable prices for food and drink, i take my grandkids too, very accomodating. hamilton290 - 7 Nov 2009 17:34 |
A really great pub which has definately come on leaps and bounds since the new Mangers have taken over. The food is great, the service excellent and it has a nice countryside feel to it without being hostil towards non-locals. All in all an excellent evening was spent next to a cosy fire with good grub an tasy beer!! MPINART - 18 Jun 2008 15:56 |
Nice pub-friendly staff and the food varies between good and excellent, although sometimes there can be a long wait. However, they do like their locals so dont expect to get piority service and what ever you do dont go in the bar- yer not from round ere are you ?!! radfot - 27 Dec 2007 17:12 |
