Nice enough place despite the previous appalling reviews on here. We only drank in here so can't comment on the food. Inside is cosy but we sat outside in a fairly large sun trap garden which was pleasant. Drinks tasted fine to me. 8/10 montie49 - 7 Jun 2014 16:00 |
This could be a very nice pub. It was fairly busy with friendly locals. They do now allow dogs, so they have had a change of policy. (see a previous comment) The beer was perfectly acceptable. However the Landlady chose to serve her regulars before me although I was obviously at the bar first. I It doesn't fare well. I certainly wont bother again. bob.the.wop - 14 Jul 2013 21:30 |
The beer was badly kept, the Sunday lunch was awful and the landlord inebriated. There were some interesting old photos of Colyton's lost pubs. This one might disappear too unless it gets a good clean up very soon. flagship - 10 Mar 2013 15:11 |
I am sorry to say The Kingfisher pub experience was the worst I have ever endured. Nothing for vegans, curmudgeonly service, mould on the walls, toilets outside, "no pets" but a resident hungry cat after your scraps! My sister-in-law had the most appalling dish, a Greek salad comprising ripped up Iceberg Lettuce, lumps of feta cheese and a few old olives with no dressing whatsoever. The dish could have been presented better by my two year old! I dread to think what a Greek would have said. To top it all I left with my eighty year old mother (she needed a headstart and fresh air) with the rest of our party settling the bill and we were chased after by the owner who accused us of "running off without paying"! Please, don't bother! stevewilson99 - 25 Aug 2011 20:53 |
I had read previous comments before visiting this pub and was a bit put off as most seemed negative but my husband and I felt very comfortable here and ate and drank here every night of our stay in Colyton. The ales were very good, the landlord and locals very welcoming and the food delicious. The only thing I would have changed was to have pasta on the menu one night! bakerZwench - 16 Sep 2010 19:35 |
