| This pub really needs a fresh review as the old ones are now largely irrelevant. The friendly, new landlords, Pud and Lee-Ann, have really revitalised the place and have a good selection of 4 real ales on. The pub is tucked away 2-3 minutes off the main street but well worth the walk. Usually comfortably busy with a nice feel to it. Tasty home-cooked food is also available at times. | This pub had a fairly decent selection of real ales - Bridge Bitter (Burton Bridge), Bass, Pedigree (Marstons), Spitfire (Shepherd Neame) and Hooky Gold (Hook Norton), alongside a real cider - Weston's Old Rosie. We fancied a bite to eat. But unfortunately, food is only served until 2pm. Rugby was showing on the TV. The pub was fairly nicely decorated with a yellow wallpaper and various horse pictures where we were sitting. Although the carpet was rather worn. Pop music was playing. A number of children were also in the pub. One was running backwards and forwards, which was a bit annoying, whilst others were more well behaved. Certainly a good drinks selection. | By far the best beer drinkers pub in Ashby. I'm not really the kind of guy to sit in a quiet pub all night and sup ale, but if I were, this would be the place to go.
