Popped in for a swift pint on the way home as I saw there's a new owner. He seems like a top bloke and I've got high hopes for the pub. There was only one ale and it was superb (Loddon Hoppit). The chap knows his stuff, so he serves from a polypin from a local brewery during the week. On the weekend he'll open a cask. This is a great idea as it keeps the beer local and fresh while he builds up the business. Pop in for a pint and a chat to support the new owner and allow him to transform the tired pub into somewhere worth visiting. IvorHogseye - 3 Jul 2015 11:35 |
A really sad little pub, probably used to be quite nice. Local cliental, pub garden, live music in a pokey back room (I'd be insulted if I was a band playing here) but that's it! Certainly has the vibe of a pub on its last legs, no crisps or nuts, no bottled water, one ale, broken seats, chunks out of Walls and broken light fittings - such a shame. Nicely furnished pub, beer garden is lovely with the flowerpots being obviously very well looked after. Enjoyed a nice game of pool. Brakspear Bitter was the only ale on and was in good condition. Decent clientle. dynamiteninja - 29 Jul 2010 22:12 |
Caledonian 80/-, Black Sheep Bitter and Ringwood Best. Beer quality wasn't up to much. OK pub and the pints were changed without a quibble. GuideDogSaint - 1 Jan 2010 23:44 |
