Modern pub that appears to be popular with a younger crowd. The bar area is light and airy and there is a raised section with a pool table. TV screens were showing the Open golf tournament and music was being played. At the rear is a large paved garden area. Marstons Red Man & Wye Valley Butty Bach & HPA were the 3 ales. There was no real cider. Fairly average. blue_scrumpy - 18 Jul 2016 19:17 |
After years of neglect this pub has been totally refurbished inside and out to a very high standard throughout and is very welcoming with 4 real ales available as well as usual lagers and stout ; Now serving food and bar snacks throughout the day with live music being introduced at the weekends children are welcome throughout the day. It has a new pool table and jukebox with a vast amount of tunes with a large enclosed clean safe beer garden to the rear. The toilets have been redecorated and a disabled toilet/baby changing room added, I for one would like to wish this pub every sucess in the future kjb - 10 Nov 2011 10:43 |
Good news...ANOTHER new landlord( lady?) and the good choice of well-kept beer pegged at 2 a pint!....now need to ditch the annoying disco on a saturday and allow the old regulars to filter back ( March 2010) Garthrockett - 24 Mar 2010 17:50 |
AGAIN under new management ( Feb 2010) who really seem to be clueless; A deafening R&B disco in the back room on a Saturday precludes anyone sitting in there, and no-one is dancing anyway !! Will they not learn the music seekers stay down the other end of the town on a weekend? Add the surly bar staff and when the jukebox is on its constantly turned down when the music isnt deemed 'appropriate'. Oh, there is normally just TWO guest beers on....!! Now ( Oct 2009) back open with new management, somehow hasn't recaptured the varied clientele and atmosphere. Quiet on Friday, although the mooted rock disco might liven things up. Garthrockett - 18 Nov 2009 21:36 |
