Two room pub situated at the end of a cul-de-sac. I was in shortly after opening time on a weekday and there was only one other customer in the lounge at the rear. I sat in the small bar at the front. Ales were Sharps Doom Bar, Ludlow Gold, Bass, Everards Mad Hatter's Tea Party & Phipps NBC Red Star. The cider was Addlestones. It's difficult to judge a pub when it's so quiet. But this seemed a nice enough place. blue_scrumpy - 22 Apr 2016 21:20 |
New landlord now in, much friendlier atmosphere, beers in good condition, stupid notices that were meant to be funny & weren't have gone. A much improved pub. arkman43 - 30 Nov 2012 23:34 |
The landlord is leaving so that things might improve at this pub which should offer so much and doesn't arkman43 - 27 Jun 2012 21:19 |
Walked up from town to have a look at this place. It seemed a bit strange thet the front half of the pub was empty and the back quite busy. Seemed friendly enough and the Pedigree was passable. HOBGOBLIN62 - 23 Feb 2012 17:11 |
Just moved into the area and checked BITE and thought this might be a good candidate for my local. After getting the general impression that it was an awful lot of trouble for them bother to serve me a pint and a half I was disappointed with both the Tribute and Landlord neither of which seemed well kept. Went back to try a London Pride and another Landlord (giving it a second chance) and some pork scratchings and then had to argue to get the brand of scratchings that I wanted because the wanted to give me "the older ones". And the same problem with the beer. Dont think I'll be bothering going back and will look for a "local" in Stafford centre. 3/10 IkeySol - 28 Nov 2011 17:50 |
