lovely old traditional looking Cornish pub, friendly staff and well kept HSD,the food could have been better but was okay, I would have used it more had the food been more to my taste, vinnnie - 18 Aug 2009 12:19 |
Stopped off here for a Sunday roast and it was very good.Plenty of fresh veg and nicely cooked meat delivered quickly to 2 hungry diners! Good local beer available and good service, will definitely go back next year. N.Barber2 - 12 Jul 2009 19:38 |
Stumbled in sort of by accident in the third week of January whilst in Cornwall on holiday for lunch. After trying the HSD - by far the best pint I had all that week - and enjoying a satisfying, enormous and sensibly-priced lunch had to go back again that night for more. What can I say? Landlord and landlady were very friendly, seemed very pleasantly surprised to see me and the wife again so soon, and introduced us to a load of the locals who were also all very friendly. There is only one problem with this pub, and that is that it's 250 miles from my front door. Visit it as soon as you can - it is fabulous (although probably a bit busy in summer with that holiday camp only 300 yards away - suggest off season to appreciate the full and true effect!) I cannot find any other reason to fault it. Benjiboy - 27 Feb 2008 21:53 |

Great pub, with a log fire with wood to be put as frequently as seemed fit. Good food and a very tasty pint of HSD. Most impressive was the vast amount of RAF memorabilia drape on all its walls. Toilets were bloody freezing mind and a bit of a shock to the system after being near the fire. Friendly bar staff too. All in all top notch! drunkendave - 5 Jan 2008 17:18 |
