Regular Salopian beers have made the Plaza a must drink destination. Usually well kept the reputation has been building. Of late however availability has been inconsistent. It appears the beers sell too quickly and affect the sales of alternative offerings. This cannot be JDW policy? Theodore - 20 Feb 2015 01:44 |
A perfectly pleasant 'Spoons in an otherwise underachieving town for pubs. The choice was okay, the beer I tried was fine if a bit too cold and the overall experience much the same as you'd expected from JDW. djw - 13 Dec 2014 18:39 |
Not a bad Spoons, one of their older ones. After a period of terrible ale quality things have been much better over the last few years. There is usually a varied selection, along with the Abbot and Ruddles resident ales. Blythe Bridge Staffie is usually on as it is popular with a few of the regulars and managers Mark and Anna do try to get beers in by request. They have done well in the time they have been there, proper handled pint glasses are another of their welcome additions! They had to bring in charging for the car park as it was being abused by people working or shopping in the town and parking all day there with no intention of using the pub. The parking charge is refunded at the bar for customers. Like all Spoons the all day lot can be found there but they are normally a friendly enough bunch, as are the bar staff, Rugeley has the best staff Ive seen in any Wetherspoons, they are a great asset to the pub. So, its a Wetherspoons, not a bad one though and worth a look if youre having a walkabout to the Vine, Albion and Red Lion. MoggieMinor - 6 Jan 2013 20:07 |
Typical cinema type wethers',had a nice pint of Dark ale but despite not been able to drive I think the charge on car parking is a bit harsh if slighty justified with the clampdown on drinking and driving!! wetherspoonsRob - 9 Sep 2012 20:39 |
I'm not going to be too critical, because I have been in worse Wetherspoons, but I have to say although the beer was ok(Tried Ruddles and Thornbridge brews),I was not keen on the layout.I'm a standy-up drinker and there are never enough ledges, shelves and high tables in any of their pubs. Most tables occupied by the usual all-day Wetherspoon type chavs.(tracky-bottoms,baseball caps, lager etc) greyhead - 1 May 2012 17:22 |
