8 years on, and fhe same issues persist. Any more than a handful at the bar and you’re waiting and waiting and waiting. Not the least of the problems is that the few bar staff are frequently occupied for long periods of time dealing with large food orders: a woman today spent at least 10 minutes ordering numerous meals, as the crowd waiting to be served grew & grew. Horribly uncomfortable high stools too and, of course, unsupervised children running about all over. Malcoholist - 13 May 2018 21:05 |
Not a bad Spoons, reasonable choice of ales on my visit, food to usual Spoons standard. Probably the best of the 3 JDWs in Hull. alexw - 13 Mar 2012 15:42 |
We met our friends in here before moving on to the pubs in the old town. Saturday night and heaving - loads of scantily clad young ladies (and boys!!) Beer range was poor with several pumps having nothing on (much like the women). Not a bad atmosphere though and not intimidating. If Wetherspoons actually go their act together and employed a few more staff they would go up in everybody's opinion overnight and we might all get served a bit quicker. We had a beer and moved on.... mcroyal - 29 Aug 2011 11:16 |
Extremely popular 'Spoons pub. Nice decor, quite spacious but always packed out on a Saturday night. Sometimes waiting too long to get served. PollyPocket74 - 2 Apr 2011 21:15 |
Slow, sarcastic staff, some good beer/ale and cider though. MildMutley - 17 Dec 2010 14:37 |
