Great traditional Hall & Woodhouse pub serving 2 ales (third handpump was subsequently turned round) - had good pints of Sussex bitter & the Tanglefoot. Mind your head on those ceiling beams. Worth coming again for. Booze_Allen - 9 May 2011 18:17 |
Was in Midhurst today and looked for something reasonable for lunch. It ended up as a toss up between the Wheatsheaf and the Pizza Express. Opted for here and found this a real nice pub. Lad behind bar very helpful and meal excellent, chips slightly underdone but really good portions made up for that. Hofbrau on draught was reasonable. Recommended. AkiraHarley - 25 Feb 2009 16:29 |
Love this pub... always get a warm welcome, like a long lost friend, great atmosphere, food fresh and always good, Ales are well kept but are only Badger beers and Hofbrau lagers but they can't help that! And even though the landlord and landlady have had to stop live music due to complainers who shouldn't have bought a house next door to a pub, they are trying new ways to entertain their customers so I am defo booking tickets to their 1st comedy night in Feb! Need something to lighten our lives in what is becoming a terminally dull place to live! gobananas - 4 Feb 2009 22:44 |
good atmos in this very smart & character filled pub. good food, drinks and service. shame about hall & woodlouse ales but everything else positive. keep up the good work. baggers29 - 6 Mar 2008 18:00 |
Drinking Magner's - whatever the price - is not reasonable, but lots of people still do it. (Sorry, this has nothing to do with The Wheatsheaf, which I have never visited, but which I'm sure is delightful - even more so when VIC CRACKNELL is performing live there, as he so regularly does.) earlydrinker - 7 Feb 2007 16:06 |
