| Visited here on a Saturday lunchtime after completing the local Parish Walk, and arrived with an appetite. The bar was fresh and the staff friendly, but the food was a complete let down. The small menu looked mouth watering but on ordering the 'Beer Battered' fish with chips the whole thing went wrong. The fish turned out to be the frozen battered type you buy in cheap supermarkets and still cold in the middle, the chips oily, and salad limp. The other meals ordered were no better. | Shame on the locals! This pub - Everards, was shut for a long time for renovations. Finally re-opened last summer. Gone is the old smelly pub, gone is the typical Everards pub food, and unfortunately, gone (well almost) are the two lovely tenants. They decided to do upmarket food which was brilliant! However, no one can rely on weekends to survive. The locals deserted the pub! The couple are to leave in May. What a waste! rhemming - 1 Apr 2005 13:35 |
