Although more of a restaurant than a pub, it has exposed brickwork, wooden beams, etc and has a good atmosphere - see the website via Google for pictures and menus. Three Greene King real ales were on the handles, mine was in excellent condition. Service was friendly and efficient, my rump steak was cooked to perfection. This pub rapidly filled up at lunchtime and competes with the Old Mill which is only a few hundred yards away. Worth revisiting, although we were told it's closing sometime in September for 6 weeks while it's being extended - better check before going. Feed - 10 Aug 2011 11:04 |
Nice decor and beer on my visit was good. Touch pricey but with no near rivals not surprising. Food looked good but havnt tasted. odbod - 14 Sep 2010 15:29 |
Used to be a good pub but now is keener to host kiddies' parties, regardless of time of day, and is happy to serve slops from behind (under) the bar in order to maximise profits. Range of beers is good, if boring, but make sure you see it coming from the pump. At least it still has no music or "entertainment" machines. barinthus - 3 Sep 2009 18:56 |
Great local pub with excellent food and service. Fantastic vegetarian menu - was expecting the usual 2 choices but was amazed to be offered 12 vegetarian main course options! Food arrived in approx 10 mins so also good if you're just stopping for a quick lunch break. Lucy25 - 25 Jul 2009 09:52 |
Nice traditional pub with views of Ticthfield Abbey. Recommended for a quiet evening or lunchtime chat. Food a little insubstantial, but reasonable range of beers and friendly staff. Can obviously get busy at touristy times. blubber_boy - 8 Jun 2005 13:15 |
