Not a pub I will return to in a hurry… I'm usually a fan of Everards pubs - They generally offer a good range of beers in a variety of settings, but this pub is very average. The back rooms are given over to families, not a bad thing, but staff need to clean up more after the kids have knocked everything over. The bar itself is massive, but only has a couple of actual serving areas due to massive structural pillars. The front area doesnt know whether it's a pub or restaurant, and to top it all I felt the staff were bored and the landlord, if that's who it was miserable and unfriendly. I cant imagine this being anybodys "local"...

Well, another visit to Bradgate Park with relatives saw us return to The Bradgate (see previous review below).

Things seem to have changed, and I believe that the pub is now being managed by Everards again. The menu has changed a bit also and the main feature is a now carvery, which is 8.95 a head. I thought it was pretty good value and the food was not bad at all (though some improvements in Roast Spuds is required and the addition of Roast Lamb would please my wife no end).

The pub was pretty busy and I thought the service was very good.

Would happily return there again, though I might not hit the Carvery quite so hard next time!

We just can't agree with the comments made previously regarding this pub...

We recently hired out the 'raised area' towards the back of the pub for my daughters First Holy Communion party. The staff were very accomodating, and despite it being a very busy Sunday afternoon, we were able to keep the area solely for ourselves for near on 5 hours. The party consisted of over 26 people and everybody commented on how lovely the food was.

The decor is contemporary and modern, but still manages to retain a certain charm and is streets ahead of many chain owned pubs now that all have a similar look to them.

There is a fab seating area outside, and the kids in our party (ranging from 3 years - 11 years) were happy all afternoon....and they loved the free lollies that were given to them at the bar! Simple things like that, that make kids content are worth every penny to mums and dads!

Nothing was too much trouble, and I wouldn't hesitate to come to this pub again, either to eat or just for a drink - don't know what you lot were complaining about, I can only assume that maybe, the pub has been taken over by new management.

Stopped off here recently after a Sunday morning walk in Bradgate Park.

Interior is a bit too 'modern' for my taste and it didn't have much of an atmosphere. Food was and drink was expensive though the Roast Lamb was pretty good (but then again at 9.50 a pop it really should have been.)

Overall, the experience was adequate.

Sadly this pub is a wasted opportunity. It makes the most of the tourists coming to bradgate park, but likely they will only ever visit once. It has recently been modernised to a rather tasteless style, and the food and beer are both mediocre. Overpriced (presumably because of location).

The only thing going for it is it has a large car park, which is usually empty as the pub's main attraction is to walkers at Bradgate Park.
