Blimey, this place has changed for the better. Restaurant run separate to bar. Beer and lager selection quite good, food marvellous and the most unspoilt gorgeous bay on the Island, recommended. ThePrincess - 7 Apr 2012 13:03 |
great views, food tasty, service very slow -our food took hour to arrive & table had not been cleared when we left.A word of warning -taxi firms will not announce their presence-they wait outside & do not come looking for you.we actually sat looking at our taxi not realising it was ours .result was a 3 mile walk home which spoilt the evening.Staff didn 't care even though we had spent 70 there.Yes I am annoyed !.PS beer described as average by my better half pollytyke - 14 Sep 2011 09:57 |
Returned this March having last visited 2 years ago. The place appears to have new management. Is this the case?? A better variety of ale on supply, friendly staff, nicely done out - at least I think its been done out. It looked a little more spruced up from what I remember. My rating has gone up. Good on ya. Would like to visit daytime to take advantage of the Solent views. Jonnysaint - 22 Apr 2011 08:43 |
We went there last Sunday for a meal, great location. We were initially ignored at the bar and two other people who arrived later were served first. After ordering food, we had to ask a waitress to clear the table from the previous occupants as after 15 minutes it was still sat there. We ordered two soups for starters and 3 main courses. After about 30 mins we asked where the soups were. No one seemed to know or take any responsibility for our food. Eventually after an hour our soups arrived. At this point we had had enough and asked for our money back and left. I find it hard to describe just how poor an experience it was. The old man behind the bar just didnt seem to care, we were given no apologies either. DO NOT GO TO THIS 'RESTAURANT' nobla - 2 Nov 2009 11:04 |
Visited on the evening of 30th May for a beer and some supper. Staff were very obliging and fitted us up with a window table in spite of only booking two hours before. Beer was draught Ringwood and perfectly acceptable, food include lobster at bargain prices and crab along with various fresh fish. Including a bottle of wine, the bill came to 64 for two which was not expensive taking into account the menu and the setting. Staff were smiling, and we enjoyed a great evening out fith a fabulous sunset over the mainland. Potbelly - 3 Jun 2009 14:22 |
