The Millstone was my final pub of the day in Tyne & Wear. It's a 2-roomed pub that is clearly popular with locals. Ales were Bass, Sharps Doom Bar, Hexhamshire Whapweasel, Wylam Bitter & Spring Thing, Anarchy Blonde Star & Allendale Pennine Pale & Force Majeure. My Wylam Bitter was somewhat cloudy and whilst not the worst drink of the day, it was worse than average. Still a reasonable pub though. blue_scrumpy - 14 May 2016 18:13 |
Went into the Millstone pub, Gosforth, last night and heard the most vile, openly racist language ever from a table of people in there. The staff behind the bar were joining in and I will NEVER EVER visit that place again because of it. I am absolutely disgusted that people in this day in age think it is acceptable to come out with such comments. Apalled - 4 Feb 2013 14:01 |
visited for first time in a while. Beer is excellent. The pub sticks to selling beer at low to medium gravity ie nothing above 4.4 when I was there. Sells local beer as well as national brands ie Jarrow Brewery Rivet Catcher when I was there. Seems cheapest pub of the three in South Gosforth Still marketed more as a food joint doing pretty standard bar food. It looks more like a food place than real ale establishment. The owners might do better trying to market it with a bigger emphasis on the beer? Staff were fine with quick efficient service . Pub looked clean and tidy . Has a separate side bar where they show live sport when its on. This pub is under rated and I'll be returning. I hope it gives the trendier Bandling Villa a run for its money. beer_inspector - 7 Oct 2011 16:43 |
Seemed a friendly place. Decent beer, but seemed a little bit expensive. Worth a visit. twohalves - 28 Jun 2011 22:22 |
Visited a couple of weeks ago. Now have 4 real ales on, including one from the Stables brewery. Its proximity to the Brandling Villa might be a bit of a problem, but it was well patronised when I was in. zipdiskdude - 10 Jan 2011 12:58 |
