Excellent pub...Food very good...Usually two ales on the bar. Generally Rev. James and another beer from slightly further a field. vg71 - 25 Jan 2012 18:56 |
Four of us went there last night on a recommendation from a colleague. We were not disappointed. The bar staff were friendly and helpful as was they young waitress who took our orders and looked after us for the evening. There was a good choice on the menu and each of us enjoyed our meals. Each had a starter, main course and a dessert, no complaints about any of the food. It was well prepared, hot and presented well. The real ale (Hancocks HB) was well kept and pleasant to drink. All in all a good, enjoyable evening at a nice venue. A place we will return to and recommend to friends. DaveW. - 11 Jul 2009 09:08 |
Recently had a meal here with a party of ten. The meals were substantial, the gammon was so salty it was burning your throat. Bar staff left a lot to be desired, had about as much personality as Saddam Hussein. philgwent - 16 Apr 2008 19:57 |
Best place to eat in the area - wide menu choice and great atmos. No Jukebox or pool table. Landlord does play background Music which is as loud as it should be. Great pub for a pint or food. live4pubs - 3 Sep 2007 19:40 |
