Sheffield police recently reported a fall in crime in the city centre. Asked how they had achieved this, the Chief of South Yorkshire Police replied that they had deployed a system of isolating hot spots of criminal activity and had arrested everyone in the Bankers Draft.

Imposing building right in the city centre and handy for trams and buses. Guest beer range was a bit uninspiring when I visited but they were about to have a beer festival so perhaps were not buying too much beer in before then. Typical 'spoons offers plus Sky Sports news on the telly!
Usual Spoons pub, plenty of ale on and spacious up and downstairs. Only had a swift pint, but was a good starting point for the day
Standard quality Spoons. OK if you want a cheap pint or meal whilst waiting for your train/bus/tram. Better places to go otherwise. Being in a city centre location you get some "characters".
Happened to be staying close-by and pub options limited in the immediate surrounds, so ended-up in here for a couple on a recent Sunday evening. As so often is the case, most of the 'Sunday night Wetherspoons' crowd were those of the most desperate or determined kind in a large pub that was otherwise relatively quiet. Some shouted inane nonsense into mobile phones near the front of the pub, another table were kicking up a huge fuss over a glass that supposedly had a cut in it and were looking to work a 'free food & drink for the rest of eternity' scam as a result by intimidating the young barstaff, and three-quarters of the punters were out the front for a smoke every 15 minutes. On reflection, I should have just walked that bit further....
Typical Spoons although you have to fight your way through the smokers who seem to think the doorway's there for their sole benefit to get in or out.

The building is nice, got served fairly quickly, beer is cheap, Real Ale is good, I had Concrake from Orkney Brewery, no complaints. Here's the rub, Dear Reader, this pub is in Sheffield, located in East Kilbride or Torquay, it'll be considered a good pub maybe GBG material, but not here, there are many better.
As many people have said, 'typical Weatherspoons' & it does what it says on the box - comfortable interior with cheap & varied range of beer. The exterior is pretty impressive, easy to miss as presumably it was formerly a bank of some description. Good range of ales with the GK lot on the far right. About 2/pint & beer was good.
Typical city centre Wetherspoons - good beer, reasonable food, varied clientele. Average.
In the heart of the city centre we visited here several times over the weekend for food, soft drinks & beer. Each time the service & quality was fine. Very large, sprawling interior which is oppressively dark. There is also an upstairs but didn't venture up there.
Middling Wetherpoons. Staff were better than many, but 3 different beers were all a bit hazy and bland. Deuchar's that is not crystal clear is a very rare occurrence. Food was the usual Wethespoons standard - cheap but not great.
Not really a very special Wetherspoons - the beer quality was OK (as one would hope) but the surroundings are a bit dingy and the general feel of the pub was not very uplifting. As others have said, not bad but hardly good enough to go out of one's way.
Went on Saturday night 19th February. This pub used to be really busy but was almost desertrd when we visited. No atmosphere at all. The Brain's beer was on top form though. The pub is standard Wetherspoons and not worth going out of your way for unless you want cheap beer.
Perfectly adequate. Banks and Taylors SOD was fine.
Beer was good and a good choice, however the customers were being loud and rude (swearing). Staff were freindly. Not the best JDW to visit. 2 / 10 rating only.
Not in a great state, it's true, but it's still good enough, as Wetherspoons style pubs go. The beer has always been good when we've been in on the way to football matches away from home. Will update after our next visit en route to Manchester on Saturday!
A battered town centre Wetherspoons which looks grand on the outside but felt rather grubby internally. Four guest beers were on, a decent selection though served rather cold - 1.80p/p. The barmaid was friendly which is a rarity in many Spoons and there was a community notice board - which seems very at odds with its surroundings. In Sheffield you can find a lot better pubs-wise but it's probably worth popping in on a crawl to see what's on as it's not too far from the station.
Very inconsistent Wetherspoons. Sometimes it's busy, but you can still get served. Sometimes it's quiet but there's hardy any staff around so you can't get a pint. Typical Wetherspoons really. Impressive building that looks like it's had exactly the same conversion team in that did the Standing Order in Derby. Standard range of ales plus a couple of guests. It's OK
Oops - I got this mixed up with the Rawson Spring (also JDW). The Bankers Draft is the one in the city centre. Fair selection of ales and efficient staff still applies.
Large Wetherspoons pub in a former swimming pool building. Have a large selection of guest ales. Staff efficient (got served straight away on each visit to the bar) and food quality good. Right next to Hillsborough tram stop.
Great session on Old Peculier at the weekend, very nice! Decent value for money food and reasonable quality JDW pub. Friendly efficient staff and even allowed OP as the "free" drink with the meal deal. We'll be back next year!
had lunch here recently. its quite big, with 2 floors. beer, meal & service weren't bad. ** I looks like it was nice when first done out, but this is a city centre pub and gets a hell of a lot of use. its consequently a bit battered now! worth a look, but don't expect the ritz.
Not one of the better Wetherspoon's. Reasonable beer, but poor atmosphere and slow service.
I hadn't been to this pub for a while as I had poor beer on a couple of visits, but had heard there was a Saltaire beer I hadn't tried so risked it. I was pleasantly suprised as the beer was good,as was the service. Will call again when back in Sheffield.
Ended up in here for Christmas drinks this year and was pleasantly surprised. It is most definitely a busy inner city pub, but the beer was of good quality and it worked very well for a group of people to have a good time in.
Popped in here having once worked just across the road some years ago, the place has hardly changed at all. It suffers from the same Wetherspoons/ Lloyds karma that the mojority of their bars take flak for, cheap beer + prime highstreet locations = every idiot with two pennies in his pocket trying to get as pissed as possible, it's not Wetherspoons it's the people that frequent there. The BD has a real olde England gentlemans bar decor to it, food was pretty quick seeing how busy it was at lunchtime early afternoon.

Had a quick one in here yesterday on the way back to the station, a very tasty pint of Jaipur IPA. Had another 8 or 9 on, not all festival beers. Seemed ok to me.
Cheap beer is the only asset, food is slower than a snail, and usualy dried up at the edges, staff are discrinatory to disabled customers, and bar innocent people by association, wetherspoons should be ashamed to be party to this pubit would be a better place if they changed the staff most are miserable and sour faced when serving you
Some of the most horrible bar staff ive ever come across that goes out of their way to bar most of the deaf community that frequents this pub but allows all the dealers and shoplifters to go in. Never came across so much discrimination in my life, ok a few deaf people are troublemakers but this pub's bar staff goes out of its way to ban every deaf person that goes in for absolutely no reason whatsover! All the staff need disability awareness training!

Had a real ale here on my way to the Kelham Island beer festival, and was not impressed with it. Other than that, it appeared a typical Wetherspoons.
Not the nicest Lloyds No1 Bar out there without a doubt, but a decent selection of real ales all the same. 7/10
This pub had improved greatly since the refurb and now attracts a much better clientelle. Not the place to go for young ppl who are 'up for it'on a night out, but ideal for those who wanna chill after work, or a saturday afternoon. Cheap beer is the way forward!!
A reasonable Weatherspoons venue. It seemed quite clean and had a good choice of real ales and the service was surprisingly prompt for a Saturday evening. However, I was disappointed that there seemed to be few "Sorry, not available" ales to try!
A better than average Wetherspoons. Clean too ! A full pint and served quickly.

good for food, not the place i'd want to be though on a satuday night.
Food is really good for the price, unfortunately because of its location you are going to attract rowdy students getting themselves p****d on cheap drinks before going to the big clubs, and the queue at the bar isnt small, but staff were good, when I given the wrong burger they quickly replaced it and were very apologetic

I THINK THE 2 GENTLEMEN COULD NOT BE MORE WRONG. I REMEMBER THE PUB A YEAR OR SO AGO BEFORE IT WAS REFURBED. IT WAS THEN FULL OF "NON DESIRABLES". SINCE IT RE-OPENED ITS BEEN MUCH BETTER. THE STAFF ARE LOVELY. THE PUB IS CLEAN. THE FOOD IS SCRUMPTIOUS AND WELL PRICED. THEY SELL THE BIGGEST RANGE OF BOTTLE BEERS I'VE EVER SEEN.IF YOU HAD PROBLEMS WITH ONE BARMAN, YOU SHOULD HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE MANAGER. I'M SURE THE PUB HAD A REASON WHY THEY HAD SO LITTLE FOOD-NO DELIVERY PERHAPS. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SPEAK TO SOMEONE IF YOUR NOT HAPPY!

Ther was a group of about 8 - 10 of us that used to meet 3 or 4 times a week in here, last year; only because of its location to transport and the relatively cheap beer. Because of the surly bar-man and the poor service (got so long to get served we were buying two pints at a time, it was taking longer to get served than to drink it) we've all stopped going in. This pub has now got nothing at all going for it apart from being a hang-out for Sheffields' neer-do-wells a good venue if you're a drug-dealer, shoplifter or barred from everywhere else! You'll be much better off walking around the corner and popping in the Brown Bear, by the Crucible Theatre.
I agree totally with that last comment. This pub is pants. I was with Mr Monkfish at the time and the barman was very rude to both of us on 2 seperate incidents. Could it be because we're from London? Doubt it! Avoid this pub, it's crap. Lloyds No 1 my arse, this wouldn't even make it in the Lloyds Top 100. Food was ok but had to change the order because they had run out of most items on the menu by 3pm on a Saturday afternoon. Thought these sort of pubs now had tv's and played music?! I could only see one tv and that was at the other end of the pub, music was barely audible. There were also a number of inconciderate smokers who moved the no smoking signs in order to get a seat. Perhaps it may have been the area it was in but I would never go back there again. Got a friendlier service at The Nelson!
Avoid. Laid out like a typical Wetherspoon's, the cheap prices are also present and correct however the draft beer was appaling and lifeless, they were out of stock of many drink and food items by lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon and they employ without doubt the single rudest and most unhelpful barman that I have ever encountered anywhere. I hope his manager wises up to him soon as myself and my two companions will never drink here again and we overheard at least two other customers expressing similar sentiments because of the treatment and service they had received. There are many good pubs in Sheffield to choose from, so despite the attraction of the low prices, you are better off exploring your other options.
Cheap food, horrible clientele.
