The previous comments seem to be more about Huntingdon than this pub. Probably just as well as it vies with Cromwell's for the accolade as the worst pub in town. No real ale, disinterested staff and tattooed customers. What less could anyone want.

I have to agree with previous comments about Huntingdon and this dreadful pub is a reflection of the town. Avoid this place at all costs. Nearby Pepys is a much better option.

Have to say folks that i agree with the general gist of the comments on here...
Huntingdon appears to be on its arse and the town planners seem to have little if any idea on how to stimulate and regenerate a market town with potential..
Worked in Brampton in 1996 and am back there for the next couple of years and feel somewhat underwhelmed by the visage of Huntingdon High St. What went wrong?
Even the Falcon is finished. That pub has the potential to be the best in town but is boarded up and up for sale. Thank god i can escape north up the A14 and M6 on a Friday for a pint the right side of 2.50..

Huntingdon High Street is a sorry place these days. When the most interesting shop is WH Smiths, and the only decent/safe place to get a drink is one of the 2 town hotels ..... you know things have gone badly wrong for a town.
Whoever allowed Sainsburys to be dropped into the middle of town with absolutely no thought to planning/design/appearance/impact should be shot. They may as well have carpet bombed the place.
A shocking shocking example of how not to 'develop' your town .

Couldn't agree more with anon. Huntingdon used to have character. but the town planners have ruined it. A souless bunker of a town with souless shops and the all pervading smell of shattered dreams.

Barry - things have changed since you last visited. I wouldn't bother going back to Huntingdon, let alone this pub. Any last vestige of the nice small market town you remember has long since gone to be replaced by the corporate death of the town centre. It consists of estate agents, souless supermarkets and chain shops that lend no character to the town.
Blame the council/town planners - how not run a town.

It's an old Pub that I used to visit when stationed RAF Alconbury in the US Airforce back in the mid sixties. I found the locals friendly and willing to talk about the old days. It has a pool table, electronic games, etc. A lovely old English pub, very fun and not too fancy.
