please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Bit pricey for small portions. Food nicely presented. Friendly attentive staff, but thats not worth going back for. Beer Ok. Had better. Geared more towards parties and events and serious wine drinkers.

Had a meal there last weekend. It's a restaurant first and foremost but has a rather soulless bar area as you enter. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I had a pint of Sharp's Cornish Coaster as an aperitif, which I have to say was lovely. The food was also very well executed and presented and it was one of the nicest meals I've had for some time. Great wine list as well, if a tad pricey. Food pricey as well but recommended for the occasional treat. Can't really rate this as a pub though!

Went here for lunch after a morning at Bisley - loved it especially the adult friendly theme. Made such a welcome change from the pub/creche that sadly is becoming the norm. Food was excellent and very fairly priced - we sat outside in the beautiful garden and just happily whiled away a few hours. This lovely place - whilst not the cheapest - is certainly worth a try.

I went last night and thought it was great

OK, where to start. Since winning the gastro pub award it has lost any sense of realism. The food, whilst ok for a pub is not great and extremely over priced simply to feed the pubs vanity. In my opinion the staff are unfriendly and seem to think they are working for Gordon Ramsay. Unless you adorn a cravatte, ball gown or bow tie then you may as well forget any friendly service...They really have forgotten who made the pub it's success in the first place. Oh a last word, you're only chance of getting a drink without an issue within 10 mins of closing is if you are one of the handful of likeminded regulars who you'll see draped over bar stools sneering at the mere mortals who simply want a drink and are willing to pay the extortionate prices this poncy gaff charges.

Am new to the area and had read the +ve reviews so decided to take thefamily. Bearing in mind that they're charging upwards of 35 a head (i.e.London prices) then it was reasonable to expect an all round impecibleexperience. It was anything but... We went on a Saturday evening. Table was reserved for 8pm, yet when we gotthere on time we were told to "have a drink in the bar" (this was the onlyoption given to us). In the 50 minutes it took for my party to be seated wehad our orders taken (and then retrospectively were told that certain itemswe'd ordered were off the menu(!)). My starter, a mushroom pate, was bland and fridge cold - forgettable. Themain of Venison was well cooked but nothing that I haven't experienced atother pubs charging 1/3 less. Before the bill arrived, I suggested to the host that a sign of goodwillour bar drinks should be complimentary given the earlier delay and issueswith menu items. Instead they decided to waive the 'optional' 10% servicecharge (!). This wasn't a gesture that will entice me back. In summary, an average dining experience with uninspired food and all forLondon prices. Avoid.

THE INN @WEST END - not to be confused with any pubs up in London! This is West End village in the Surrey countryside..!
A large banner adorns this pub: "Gastro Pub of the Year"! So we ventured in to see if it was true...!
It has a v.small bar area, 20 people and you'd be shoulder to shoulder, but there's a small room at the back with a table or two, and plenty more tables outside in the garden and terrace area (ok if the weather's nice, I guess)!
The food was actually nothing to write home about..! Okay, but nothing terribly special, although the price was a bit special!! Staff were polite, as you would expect in a 'gastro-pub of the year' (!) but there were not enough staff on duty to provide 'service of the year'..!!! A nice place to go for a weekend drink (if the sun's shining..) but carry on along the A322 towards Guildford if you want a better meal somewhere...!! (Who chooses these pubs anyway..???!)! TJ

Had lunch at the Inn today. The welcome and service were excellent, we eat in the bar area but there is a 'fine dining' section. This establishment is very food centric, but does have a reasonable pint of Fullers and a good size bar area.

The food is excellent but expensive for a pub, though reasonable value. The wine list is too expensive though - the mark up is what you would expect from a top class restaurant rather than a 'pub'. Still, would go back to eat.

we ate here after being recommended, and i was very disappointed. the food was mediocre and the service poor. i think they spend all their time and efforts advertising the place and have forgotten how to actually serve good food.

Great food but very expensive. Decor a bit odd and not sure if they are a pub trying to be a restaurant or a restaurant with a bar.

Excellent food and wine - decor in transition between modern and country pub style but I didn't care. Definitely to be recommended.

More of a gastro pub than traditional real ale boozer but extremely good food and wine list and friendly buzzy atmosphere. Big welcome from the staff although you have to barge through the mad regulars to get a pint

Given that the Inn@West End has a Michelin entry and won Surrey dining pub of the year this year, it is no suprise that it is really more pub-with-food rather than your traditional boozer - althogh no worse for that.

Good menu and probably best wine list in the area.

Would get 10 if Mr Price get's the Young's back!

OK, so this is our pub but hey, we think you'd like it especially if you like good early doors banter, excelent wines and food, London Pride and Courage Best on Handpump. Landlord baiting and customer abuse frequently observed. All round good spot really. No children, good garden and boules area blah blah blah
