The Inn At West End, West End

Am new to the area and had read the +ve reviews so decided to take thefamily. Bearing in mind that they're charging upwards of �35 a head (i.e.London prices) then it was reasonable to expect an all round impecibleexperience. It was anything but... We went on a Saturday evening. Table was reserved for 8pm, yet when we gotthere on time we were told to "have a drink in the bar" (this was the onlyoption given to us). In the 50 minutes it took for my party to be seated wehad our orders taken (and then retrospectively were told that certain itemswe'd ordered were off the menu(!)). My starter, a mushroom pate, was bland and fridge cold - forgettable. Themain of Venison was well cooked but nothing that I haven't experienced atother pubs charging 1/3 less. Before the bill arrived, I suggested to the host that a sign of goodwillour bar drinks should be complimentary given the earlier delay and issueswith menu items. Instead they decided to waive the 'optional' 10% servicecharge (!). This wasn't a gesture that will entice me back. In summary, an average dining experience with uninspired food and all forLondon prices. Avoid.
