12.00 on a Saturday & soft plastic glasses. Behave. Short pints as well. Tribute only ale on which was OK, nothing more

A proper pub. A great place to meet friends, watch the footie and have a game of pool. I've been in here a few times and, if I lived closer, it would definitely be my local. The bar staff are always very friendly and the Thai food is divine (thanks to a new chef recently brought in - chicken and cashew nuts is highly recommended!). The standard of pool players table can be tasty so don't expect to stay too long on the table. Nice clientele: mix of locals, passers-byes and pre/post-Apollo crowd. This is how pubs are supposed to be!

i've been using the pub for a few years and find the landlady and staff very friendly and helpful
|
nice friendly local pub... friendly bar staff and a friendly landlady........
|
A horrible place. The girl who says she is in charge seems more intent on starting arguments and physical fights than running what could be a lovely pub in an ideal location. Avoid at all costs. Much nicer pubs nearby.

A pleasant pub which unfortunately suffers from a lack of local clientele, largely relying instead on the passing trade from Hammersmith Apollo just around the corner.
This is a shame, as its a comfortable and relaxing pub, with friendly staff and usually a fair range of drinks on. The pool table and jukebox are in good nick, and its always a safe and friendly place to stop off for a pint or two.
The only gripe is that Ive had more than one dodgy pint of Deuchers IPA here, which doesnt seem to be well kept. All else is in order though, and this pub is ideal for stopping off on the way to an evening match at Craven Cottage to avoid the more crowded hostelries nearer to the stadium. Definitely recommended.

Awful, just awful. Went to have a drink and something to eat before going to the Apollo, which is surely the only reason anyone ever comes here. A bog standard Thai menu, but the food is dreadful - when it came it didn't look all that great and my first bite revealed seriously undercooked chicken. Even worse, my beer was warm. Grim, grim, grim. (To be fair, they did refund the cost of meal without complaint).

a dump of the highest order!only boring idiots or people who like motorhead and tank would even bother to drink in here. full of peabody estate chav.
|
Think it rather relies on its proximity to hammersmith odeon (as it's properly known), but worth visiting as an alternative to its pricey bars. not a great deal of atmosphere - bright, wooden floors, sofas.
|
Another plastic pub with no real atmosphere on Fulham Palace Road. This place is so nondescript I can't think of anything else to say about it. There's no reason for anyone to want to go here.

The staff are dull and lifeless, the food even worse. And it has it's fair share of weird old drunks who want to chat to you. A very awkward place to drink, I won't be coming back.

Saturday was the first time I had been in here since 1999, so not surprisingly the name had changed and pub had been refurbished. It seemed a little disjointed with a gastro feel at the front of the pub and a pool table at the back.
It was pretty busy due to a show at the Apollo, but the lack of seating due to the oversized sofas taking up most of the floor space did make it looked packed. It took a while to get served each time I went to the bar due to till rolls running out, staff phoning cabs for punters and the locals blocking the bar.
I ended up on the Fosters as I thought that they only had this and Kronenburg, but I spotted a decent lager on the bar nearest to the entrance as I left (Doh).
I think that if I was in the area again I would try to find another pub to drink in.

Nearest pub to the Apollo. Three rooms knocked through with the bar in the middle room. Pool table in the back section. Sparse decoration. Plain wooden floor. Music played at a decent level. Friendly staff - the woman are quite buxom. Serves two meals for 8 up till 8pm. Bombardier and Courage Best are the casks.

very nice comfortable and tidy pub close to the apollo and a great tasting pint of l pride, 7/10
|
Popped in here for a few before a gig at the Apollo next door - pool table (on which I got trounced as usual - but that's more of a comment on my skills than the establishment, naturally), nice Guinness, friendly and efficient service, and a late-ish licence so there was plenty of time for a couple more after the show, will definitely visit again next time I'm passing

The pub is very efficiently run and boasts one of the finest pool teams in the Hammersmith & Fulham Pool League. When playing pool, watch out for the Teletubbies, who are renowned for fleecing unsuspecting challengers of their tequila shots. Another pool player to watch out for looks the spitting image of Michael Stipes from REM. He has a thick Geordie accent and has been known to evacuate the entire pub by dropping one just as you are about to pot the black. It has the best jukebox in the world, allowing you to download any track off the internet.

Gotta agree, the tastiest barmaid I have seen in a long while here! My mate with me said last time he was there, there was about 3 more gorgeous ladies behind the bar! Nice chilled out pub, worth another visit for sure!
|
Personally, I find the staff there attractive and nice. Horses???? I have never seen a horse there :) wow someone must go to check their eyesight! The interior is well designed and I must admitt I like the idea with sofas in the middle. I recommend the pub to people who like to relax and drink good beer, and go crazy in the evening. Well, and really come and see how goodlooking the staff is!

Makes a nice change from the usual Fullers and Youngs establishments, and certainly a step up from many of the bars/pubs that surround Hammersmith Broadway.
|
Now being run by a beautiful young Polish lady with some very sexy staff this pub has been transformed into something rather special. See for yourself. Well worth a visit
|
A decent refit with friendly staff , never going to be a locals pub though as it's invaded at least twice a week by the fans of whoever is playing at the Apollo, so ok if it's Busted etc put pretty gruesome if it's Slipknot. Having said that it's way preferable to the library quietness of the Distillers or the OSP , it's got a top class jukebox which will always be turned up on request , and a couple of pool players capable of clearing from the break.

The 'DUKE' is a fab pub with a young, lively and friendly staff. Check it out!!
|
The Duke of Cornwall will; be far better within the next month when the new manager - RAY - takes over .... trust me ..

I was suspicious before going in here, as it looked like it had been given a dodgy ikea refit.
However, was pleasantly surprised. Has a nice vibe, a good jukebox where you can hear the music (essential in a good pub) and a quiz machine (although it did rip me off a fiver).
All in all, not bad.

Now the 'Duke of Cornwall' again, with a lot more light inside as the old skylights have been opened up. The barstaff has a far better attitude than before, and although the place still runs very much on pool table and large TV screen, you can get real ale as well as the ubiquitous Guinness and lager.

The former 'Finnegans Wake' is currently undergoing refurbishment and will reopen as the 'Duke of Cornwall'.
|
The Finnegans Wake used to be the Duke of Cornwall and is the only survivor of about half a dozen pubs in the streets from there to Bridge Road. It's a grimy cavernous place for which there seems very little point.
