Does anyone know what happened to the landlord Peter?

The most Irish pub I've been in here in London. The clientele are a mixture of retired Irishmen who are very friendly, and younger men in workwear. I've been in there to watch the GAA and they have all the games on, as they have the Irish channels.
I see previous comments about rough clientele, but I didn't sense any unwelcoming vibes there at all. It's certainly a salt-of-the-earth joint, not an ideal place to bring the missus. The barman was all over the place to be honest, though he did his best.
Guinness was £3.20 but the pint wasn't great. The chalk on the wall outside tells me that all pints are £2.50 from Mon - Fri until 7pm, though who knows what it's like on weekdays.

MY GOD, AN ABSOLUTE DUMP, THE GENTS TOILET NEEDS A COMPLETE OVERHALL, I AM SURPRISED THE H&S HAVENT CALLED, THE PLACE HAS GOT ALOT OF POTENTIAL IN THE RIGHT HANDS, GET RID OF THE SCALLYWAGS (IE)PIKEYS,CRACKHEADS ETC, IF I WON THE LOTTERY I WOULD LIKE TO BUY THIS PLACE MYSELF, THE STAFF ARE OK BUT THE CLIENTELLE ARE A BIT ON THE DODGY SIDE(COUNTY CORK OR LIMERICK)LOL

what a dump, begining to ask myself why i came to try the pubs in acton

I can't agree more with Sheepwalker. I came here for the first time last week. Travellers, travellers and more travellers. By the end of the evening they thought we (my mate and I) were C.I.D. - because we were too law abiding! I won't be coming back!
Pool table is sugar!

this pub should be renamed the den of thives or nest of vipers since recently taken over by new management it has to be the most unpleasant place to drink in west london. most of the customers and staff are like something you would see on the trisha show low life low esteem low eerything take my advice give it a miss if you value your life and health

This is a no frills boozer that isn't everyones cup of tea, but I liked it even though there is no real ale. An unremarkable selection of generic draught is available, but it is served by a very friendly barmaid. There is a pool table and a couple of screens for sports that were showing the horse racing whilst I was in. All pints are 2.70 at the moment with John Smiths Smooth coming in at 2.50.
I thought that this was one of the better pubs in Acton that I have been to, not that there is much competition.

No gastro here only pork scrathings. Very plain old school decor. Top pint of Guinness.

Great Pub where to watch Gaelic football . Hurling . Football . Horse Racing and Rugby

Fantastic traditional back street Irish pub. Brilliant atmosphere with the funniest characters you will ever meet. You are guaranteed a good laugh and an excellent pint of Guinness. Not to mention the fantastic service from the friendly and helpful staff. Totally recommend the Sheepwalk Tavern.

Traditional back street boozer. Cheap and cheerful. Could do with serving evening bar food but otherwise nice enough. Not as scary as it looks from the outside.
|
A hidden gem. Traditional back street pub with a friendly crowd and some terrific old irish songs on the juke box. Personally though i'd get rid of the pool table altogether. It takes up too much room in such a small pub.
