Staff were very displeased at being asked to turn the volume up to watch the football with commentary. They have three screens.
On my visit on a Saturday they did not serve food. Although in a back street it was very busy.

What is the point in showing football matches when they won't let you hear the commentary?
If you want to watch football I suggest you would be better off finding somewhere else to watch.

I ate at the pub on Sunday 24th January with 7 other people.
Since we arrived at 12pm we were the only people in the pub, but it took ages to be asked for our orders. After a good 15 minutes I had to walk over to the bar to get the waitress to come over to the table and take our order. We asked what the Sunday specials for the starters were. The waitress said "I can't remember, I will have to check!", which was not a good start since we were the first customers to ask. The same response came when one of us asked what the Sunday Special desserts were.
I had the Sunday Roast. The portions were big. The beef was tough as old boots, whilst the Yorkshire Pudding was good. English peas were cooked from frozen, the mange tout was undercooked, the Roast Potato was slightly oily yet the new potatoes and carrots were good.
I asked for English Mustard, and a jar of mustard without a spoon was served to me, so I just had to stick my knife into it, and then pass it on. Like being at home!
The nicest part of the meal was the Cappuccino cake served with ice cream. Nice texture and big portion. Their coffee was weak and slushy.
The Sunday Roast special 2 courses was £10.95, which is good value for money.
Overall, I was fortunate that I wasn't paying the bill.
