Made several visits this winter, well kept beers and reasonably priced food. If only the place was warmer !

Stayed here in the B&B rooms a few nights. A bit basic but pleasant. Spent a few evenings in the bar as a result. David, the landlord, friendly, good barman. The beer was good, the food is good (definitely recommend the five been chilli), the regulars friendly and I'll going back.

Timothy Taylors pub with landlord, golden best I think ramtam was the other on. Couple of lagers and a draught cider. Good range of bottled beers too. Had an Excellent pint of Landlord, and the Golden Best my friend had was on top form too. Pleasant Landlord on duty , busy but polite and acknowledges everycomer. This is a lovely pub in a hilltop setting, Beer garden has to have some of the best views going. Good pub grub at fantastically low prices. We had a great suasage and mash for aorund 3 each. Does B and B if you get too legless. Its a good idea to get a ride on the regular bus service uphill from Hebden Bridge and then enjoy a pleasant stroll back down the hill. We will be back.

Slipped across the border and visited this fine pub. A superb pint of Landlord and a 3 lunch that eclipsed anything at 3 times the price elsewhere.

popped in again whilst walking in this lovely area whcih we frequent 3-4 times a year. had a lovely meal this time and landlord seems to have got his ales sortes nicely.
|
Now changed hands and the food has improved somewhat. Still learning about the cellar so not gauranteed a good pint every time. llovely pub and area but it lacks atmosphere somehow despite the blazing fires. when on form a lovely pint of landlord or golden best. room for improvement

Fab views, food OK plus, but I can't ever forgive them for not having a fire burning on Christmas Day! Actually it's well-worth a visit but watch out for George: the dog who likes to dangle his bits across your table.
