Black Country Ales have recently re-opened this pub and it was reasonably quiet on our visit. Well, at least it was until we arrived! It's fairly typical of their other pubs and judging by the previous review, it's probably received a bit of a lick of paint and a freshen up. The ale range was fairly typical of the chain - Black Country BFG, Fireside & Pig On The Wall, Baa Two Bridges, Beowulf Chase Pale, Twisted Oak Sheriff Farman, Kelham Island Kelham Best, Hophurst Debonair Stout, Milestone Lion's Pride & Coastal Cornish Cascade. The ciders were Thistly Cross Whisky Cask & Broadoak Sloe Gin. A decent pub and we moved on from here to another Rugby micropub - the Crafty Banker (not listed on BITE).

Old school boozer - a little rough looking around the edges and smell slightly of damp on entry.
Bar Billiards and a tiny little snug room, just off a main room that goes back deep.
Good pint of London Pride. Friendly staff

An old fashioned pub with three separate rooms,Oakham seems to have a spot on the bar both beer and cider!

Just out of the centre, it really is a special little boozer that deserves more custom. Plenty of nice ales, friendly, search out and visit.

Nice enough pub and beer though staff seemed a bit slow serving - made up for by the customers who ensure people get served in turn.

Very hospitable landlady and an excellent range of beers including a great Wheat Beer. Good pork pie too and well worth the short stroll from the town.

Across the road from where William Webb Ellis cheated and hence invented a sport we could all do without, this is a really enjoyable local with a fine selection of ales, a couple of which were from the impeccable Oakham range. Friendly service too.

Agree location is just off the centre, but this is a really superb real ale pub, with proper traditional boozer decor.
If you're visiting Rugby for real ale, this would be one of the top 3 boozers.

An interesting pub in a rather awkward location. Decent selection of ales although there was rather too much greene king for my liking. Even so friendly landlady and nice feel.
