Black Country Ales have recently re-opened this pub and it was reasonably quiet on our visit. Well, at least it was until we arrived! It's fairly typical of their other pubs and judging by the previous review, it's probably received a bit of a lick of paint and a freshen up. The ale range was fairly typical of the chain - Black Country BFG, Fireside & Pig On The Wall, Baa Two Bridges, Beowulf Chase Pale, Twisted Oak Sheriff Farman, Kelham Island Kelham Best, Hophurst Debonair Stout, Milestone Lion's Pride & Coastal Cornish Cascade. The ciders were Thistly Cross Whisky Cask & Broadoak Sloe Gin. A decent pub and we moved on from here to another Rugby micropub - the Crafty Banker (not listed on BITE). blue_scrumpy - 30 Jun 2019 18:20 |
Old school boozer - a little rough looking around the edges and smell slightly of damp on entry. Bar Billiards and a tiny little snug room, just off a main room that goes back deep. Good pint of London Pride. Friendly staff Mappiman - 11 Dec 2018 14:47 |
An old fashioned pub with three separate rooms,Oakham seems to have a spot on the bar both beer and cider! slerpy - 15 Aug 2016 16:15 |
Just out of the centre, it really is a special little boozer that deserves more custom. Plenty of nice ales, friendly, search out and visit. Blastbeat - 22 Feb 2016 11:16 |
Nice enough pub and beer though staff seemed a bit slow serving - made up for by the customers who ensure people get served in turn. anonymous - 26 Dec 2015 18:56 |
