Spent Saturday April 124th in this pub with friends. A superb little boozer with quality ales, good music supplied by anyone who can play a guitar and very friendly clientele of all ages.Highly recommended

A fascinating pub, apparently made of some terraced housed knocked-through! Intelligent, articulate customers, ready to chat on almost any subject, and well-kept real ales. You won't find anything similar elsewhere with much ease. Parking no problem in the vicinity, and good restaurants nearby in King Cross, if you're calling for a sharpener.

Wonderful local pub. Full of character, with lots of different rooms and snugs! Great games room with pinball machine and a wide selection of well kept ales! Definately one of Halifax's finest!!!

Brilliant little pub down a terraced street made by knocking together 2 houses. It always has a good selection of superbly kept ales and whiskies that can be enjoyed in one of the 3 or 4 rooms in the pub or the beer garden (out the back door and across the street). Looking like it hasn't been decorated since 1945, the pub itself has all the characteristics and charm that a decent pub should have, and long may it stay that way!
One of the two best pubs in Halifax. 5 mins in a taxi from the train or bus station - if you find yourself in town it's worth popping in for a couple.

Superb little back street local made by knocking together several back to back cottages. Approaching from King Cross towrds the old Infirmary if you look to the left you can see the faint outline of a big '6' on the gable end of the terrace. Owned by Punch but on a 'free of tie' lease so a good selection of real ales in good condition. A classic little time capsule - worth seeking out.
