What a cracking pub ! Pleasant décor, swift service, great beer, genial clientele, good value prices, wide range of ale and lovely barmaid- full marks !

Real ale lovers who appreciate this Three Pigeons will also be pleased to learn that the Brighouse Real Ale Trail now has a new member.

It is the Pear Tree Inn at nearby Norwood Green. Typically it has very well-kept standards such as Teltey's and Timothy Taylor's landlord, but also charming guests such as Castle Rock Harvest Pale, Hobgoblin and so on.

The pub has been tastefully redecorated in much lighter, airier style, and features fresh-cut flowers along with a now-delightful beer garden.

The atmosphere is intended for the genial and well-mannered, and I cannot commend the staff highly enough for doing what is needed to preserve that.

Much better now - done out a bit, redecorated tastefully without losing character and cleaned up loads. Still not the widest choice of beers but at least they're all worth drinking.

Pleasant historic interior and well kept beers. Don't know why previous reviewer thought it wasn't clean because it was when we were there.

Gets worse here every time we go.
Red hot day, Halifax at home – big surprise the pub was rammed on Saturday to the extent they'd nearly run out of beer by 9pm when we got there. Just three obscure dark ones and Blonde, which was in poor nick given how much they must have sold. Likewise "haven't had time" to restock the soft drinks, or hadn't ordered enough. Interior gets no nicer or cleaner either.
Wasted potential at the Three Pigeons.
Losing patience now; best just stick to the Big 6.

Come on! This is Yorkshire. It's to let those making less noise know that they're having a better time than them. The men can be every bit as bad with forced guffaws etc.

I've never come across that myself in The Three Pigeons though, glad to report.

Cracking pub with multiple cosy rooms.

Gorgeous interior, Art Deco I think, several room that open onto the bar/hallway area. When I got there on a cool September afternoon, it was stupidly warm inside. I sat outside for my first pint then drank the second inside. Salamander's Moon Walk at 3.8% was good.

Reviews are completely justified. Had a cracking time in the pub and enjoyed the delicious Big Red (Osset Brewery), Citra (Excelsior) and Gun Jumper (Salamander).

Lovely traditional pub, will definitely be revisiting.

One of the best pubs I have been in! Great beer in a lovely pub,

Really good beer and staff, did home-made curries when I've been there, chatty friendly customers, can't fault it.

Short walk from the rail station just past the Pump Room, both venues are well worth a visit.
Good selection of ales. Opens mid afternoon during the week.

Great little real ale pub. Divided into 4 or 5 little rooms (or snugs). Interesting decor based around the three pigeons theme, you can tell that the owners of this pub put a great deal of heart & soul into the place. Very good beer, great ambience. Just a short left turn from Fax railway station, this really is a must visit venue. Superb.

Excellent pub with a great range of ales from local micros. A must-visit (assuming you like good beer).Interesting and attractive 1930s interior.

Great little Osset pub about 5 mins walk from Halifax train station.

My local when I'm back home, in this no-nonsense boozer the ales are always superbly kept and there's always a great selection (bottled and by pump) with ever changing guest ales and a cider if you're feeling like a refreshing tipple in the summer.

The pub itself has 4 rooms, each with their own characteristics and charms which have been redecorated in such a way that none of the character has been lost - a rarity these days.

Along with the Big 6, this is a place that you should always find time to pop in if you're in Halifax.

Keep up the good work guys! - I'll be in when I'm back home!

Great pub, one you have to visit if you are in the area. Had a great pint of Hercules - bit of a beast at 6.5%

Great pub in an art deco style and well kept beers. Small patio seating area at the front of the pub.

Called in at the 3 Pigeons after the Mayfest beer festival just down the road. There was a beer festival on in the pub too with 10+ ales spread over the 2 bars. I cautiously plumped for the Oakham JHB, one of my favourite ales, and it was in sensational condition. I should make the effort to visit here more than once a year as it is a warm, comfortable pub with friendly staff, and also a tasty real cider on handpump.

This brilliant pub won the CAMRA award a couple of years ago for the sympathetic restoration and attention to detail lavished on it by Osset Brewery. Well done guys. Has 7 handpumps usually with a couple of guests alongside the Osset brews. The beer is kept in perfect condition. Each of the rooms has it's own character and all are a bit quirky. Friendly, attentive service and great beer in a classic ale house. What more do you want? Its' worth a visit to Halifax on the train for here and the Pump Room alone.

Went in her yesterday and it's an absolutely cracking pub. The interior is absolutely stunning with beautiful details throughout. The beer was very good and the barstaff amiable. I'll definitely be revisiting soon.

Attractive looking 1930's Art Deco pub reasonably close to the centre of Halifax and the railway station.

The Art Deco theme extends to the "Bar Lounge" metal signage on one of the doors and plenty of Art Deco posters.

There's an unusual hexagonal bar lobby with 3 rooms off it. Note also the painting on the ceiling off this lobby.

The pub has a comfortable, homely, welcoming feel to it.

It's listed in CAMRA's National Inventory of Unspoilt Interiors.

The pub is a former Websters house now owned by Ossett Brewery. As well as the full range of Ossett beers, Fullers Summer Ale and Northumbrian Legends of the Tyne were on. Try the House Bitter - Three Pigs - brewed especially for the pub.

Sod's law being what it is, unbeknown to me in advance, my Sunday lunchtime visit coincided with a Rugby League play off fixture that day at The Shay between Halifax and Whitehaven and my peaceful pint was soon interrupted by a crowd of noisy, boisterous, but good humoured rugby supporters, including an inordinate number of screeching womenfolk. ( Why do women have to screech and shriek so often without good reason )

Despite the interruption, I enjoyed the visit and would definitely call in again when next passing through

Ossett brewery house with at least 7 ales on. The interior has to be seen to be believed with all the original rooms left intact & not knocked through. An essential calling point when visiting Halifax (along with the Pump Room, & The Shears)
Turn left from the station towards The Shay, just past Eureka.
