We went to this pub for Christmas lunch, the service was terrible, they had all the order wrong, when our dinner arrived the vegetables were hard and under cooked,we had to ask for roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding as they had "forgot to put them on our plate" when I complained the head waitress said if you want proper cooking go to a restaurant, when I asked for mustard and horseradish the waitress came out with a handful of sachets and dropped them on our table. Overall terrible experience. We would never go there again

Oh forgot to mention in my earlier comment - if you are beaten up nobody cares - nobody 'notices', The Manager will side with his rough disgusting clientele.

Do not enter this Pub unless you want a fight or be beaten up....

just been to this pub for dinner (well supper by the time it arrived). we were told there was a 30 minute wait for food when we order at 6.15pm. after going up to enquire about our food several times it finally came at 7.30pm (unfortunately we had already paid for the meals or we would of left). My partner had the steak, which she ordered medium. It came charcoaled. I ordered the mixed grill with rare steak, which also came out charcoaled. My egg was so raw that i couldn't eat the food that it was drapped over. the chips were raw in the middle and unfortunately the best bit of the meal were the grey peas that looked like they'd sat in hot water since this morning (and were still like bullets). Daren't send it back to be cooked properly as they stopped serving at 9pm and we'd never get fed. won't be going back and certainly won't be recommending it to anyone.

Looks like the sort of pub you see bolted onto the side of a Travelodge - hence never been in there..

Now re-opened after almost a year. Ever get that thing where you walk to a bar and realise that they don't serve a single thing that you enjoy drinking? Me neither, until I walked in here the other day.

CLOSED JANUARY 2009
|
Closed awaiting a new tenant/buyer. The writing has been on the wall for some time as the trade has declined alarmingly over the past year, come to think of it, since the last re-furb. It will probably get another makeover now and be "relaunched" as something else.

Recently introduced Greene King IPA (better than nothing I suppose). And guess what... it's shite.
Why oh why do I keep going back there... like a dog returning to it's own vomit.
Still 3/10

We took my family of 14 to this pub for a birthday celebration and thought it sounded great for a family atmosphere and meal out. Firstly they had no recollection of my booking which I had made only 2 days previously. The actual pub has a nice decor but thats all that was nice about it! The service was awful and I had to act as 'waitress'. The wrong food was delivered and the food was disgusting! The worse food I have ever eaten and most of my family agreed with me. The steak were cheep and stringy, the sausages dry and tasteless, the veg (peas!)looked like it had been cooked for hours!!The childrens play area (which is one of the reason's I chosen this pub) was actually closed by 6.00pm and you had to pay an extra 2.50 for the children to use it, which considering we had bought 3 courses for 14 people was a bit outrageous and should be included with the meal. Overall all - complete disappointment and waste of money!

Recently refurbed, and they have now made it even worse! (if that was possible). The beer is now ridiculously overpriced. Over 3 for a pint of Stella. No proper ale whatsoever. Always full of badly behaved kids running around the bar. Cheap, nasty food. Typical "chain pub" really.

Excellent place for eating. All main meals are 2/4/1. Nice Wacky Warehouse for kids. Beer selection very limited however (i.e. No Real Ales)

a place to take children to after shopping at lidl's or farm foods, no beer to talk of, more like a peter pans playground

As previously stated this may be a fine place to dine and it is really ideal for children but if you want a beer the place is a disaster. There are no real ales and really all it is is a macdonalds selling fizz beer.If you like decent beer then you would be better off to avoid this place.

This is a wonderful place to dine if you have children and a budget....
