Outback, Whitehillback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This pub has been taken over by a team of Ex-Gurkhas and what a wonderful change they've made. It's now a pub (and restaurant) that you'd be happy taking your mother to.
Beautiful Gurkha (Nepalese) food, decent beer and a comfortable atmosphere. The pub operates with a bar in one half, and the restaurant in the other, so you're very welcome to stop for just a beer.
Highly recommended, just what the town needs.

Ok, I gave it a try. Beer was good, as were the staff.
Pub where everyone is either round the pool table, or sitting at the bar
|
Reopen and refurbed. No longer called the 'Outback' either.
Clearly a lot of effort going on, haven't had the chance to try yet

Large sign on building saying 'Lease this pub'

Ok, in September Mike and Barb came back. And left again. Now in the hands of Paul the holding company landlord. Awaiting refurb in May 2007.

Good local village pub. Well managed, good atmosphere. No real beers, but wide range lagers, spirits et al. Mick and Barb (owners) back in residence after, very brief, relocation. Long may they stay.

Australian themed pub, bright & colourful. Friendly atmosphere. 1 pool table, darts and fruities. Widescreen plasma tv's: music videos & sport.
Wide selection of largers & bitters. Ales not on tap but all the spirits under the sun. Wide selection of bar munchies but no food.
Friendly staff and owners, (let you get away with murder if they know & like you! Thank God). Highly recommended.
