Sometime in September 2009 we moored our leaky hired narrow boat opposite this pub on the Llangollen canal in torrential rain with five on board [ 3 were pensioners ]. After trudging over a bridge the manager refused to serve us food as he said he was expecting a coach party. Having read the other reviews its probably a good job we did not drink there and we ate on board. Welsh weather followed by Welsh hospitality.

Lovely pub with excellent views across the Vale of Llangollen. My first pint was past its best and was replaced with another without question. Excellent meal too.

Enjoyed the food, the views and the beers in this pub. A beer that was off was changed without question.

A good pub with large restaurant, but also selling bar snacks as well. The bar food we had was good and reasonably priced. Two well kept cask ales on, from the Weetwood brewery. Well worth a visit. A shame it was raining as I'd have loved to sit outside with the views!
On the A539, a mile or so out of Llangollen; also about a mile's walk from the Bryn Howel Hotel in the other direction.

Superb views from the beer garden, popular with people on the canal. Didn't eat there but food looked good. They had 2 reasonable ales on.
