The Blue Lias Inn is a converted Farmhouse by the side of the Grand Union Canal. I have visited it twice in the past two weeks, firstly on my narrow boat [not a barge] and secondly in my car to treat my old mum to lunch. Its a nice clean pub in lovely surroundings with plenty of seating in and out. It has a reasonably priced pub menu and the food was served hot, freshly cooked and within a short while of ordering. The only down-side was only one member of staff serving drinks on both occasions so queuing was a pain and sometimes quite lengthy as food orders were taken by the same person. Worth a visit in case the ghost of the murdered farm hand appears chased by the one legged farmer.. . . . . . . . . 8/10 and will go again.

Just the same as always. Good hot meals pub grub style, nothing fancy with a superb free salad bar, fair prices and good service. Sometimes when its crowded you may have to wait a few minutes but otherwise no probs. As mentioned before yes the staff are young but I have always found them extremely polite and eager to please. Whoever trains them is still on the ball.

The Sun Trevor, Llangollen
Sometime in September 2009 we moored our leaky hired narrow boat opposite this pub on the Llangollen canal in torrential rain with five on board [ 3 were pensioners ]. After trudging over a bridge the manager refused to serve us food as he said he was expecting a coach party. Having read the other reviews its probably a good job we did not drink there and we ate on board. Welsh weather followed by Welsh hospitality.
